Might have been me w/ the Doxa reference. I know I've speculated on the James Bond Forums, as well as on my own website, that the orange Planet Ocean follows a "trend" in orange that seems to be all over the watch magazines right now.

I may have also mentioned it in my G-force questions. Doxa appears to have the same specifications as Our Brand -- but they do a better job of marketing the fact.

Dirk Pitt has never worn anything but a Doxa. First mentioned by name in Iceberg.

The current Chronos (Winter 2005/2006) has a great feature on Clive Cussler and his relationship w/ Doxa. Also a great sidebar on how he sent his original Doxa back to the manufacturer for refurb after being given one of the new commemorative editions. And it got lost in the mail!

There's another watch magazine from this month or last w/ a major feature on the movie Sahara. Speaking to my own issues w/ a certain brand now getting its story straight on "the" watch for a certain British Agent, Sahara producers were way ahead of the product placement merchandising plan.

The had Matthew McConaughey, as character Dirk Pitt, wear multiple Doxa models.

Don't tell anyone, but I'm really tempted by a watch associated w/ Raise the Titanic!

Thanks for the GREAT sidetrack.
