SMP Chrono Questions

First - Great site! Just discovered it today while doing a little research. I am considering the SMPC as an addition to my almost 20 year old Speedmaster Moon Watch which I have never considered to be "water safe." Can someone explain the mechanics of the seals on the push buttons of the SMPC? I read somewhere that the seals are so robust that the buttons can be actuated underwater. I find that hard to believe. Are they knurled to be locked down in similar fashion to the crown? Thanks in advance for any information.
