: In all honesty, this is such a simple repair
: that I don't think you'll have a problem. If
: your AD does not have an Omega trained
: watchmaker on staff, he may tell you that
: you have to send it back to Omega for the
: official "warranty repair". For
: such a quick and easy repair job I doubt
: that Omega would charge you for it,
: especially since you are sending them a
: watch that is still under warranty.
: To answer your other question, I have seen
: other posts about people complaining about
: various aspects of the diver's extension
: clasp. In some cases it wasn't tight enough
: to secure the clasp when closed and needed
: warranty repair. So, yes, it's possible to
: get a brand new Omega with a weak spot at
: the diver's extension.
: Good luck,
: John
Thank for the info John, much appreciated. I contacted my AD and they did say it would be repaired under warrenty, but it will have to be sent away. Not looking forwared to wrist time without my SMP as I wear it 24/7 but it cant be helped. As an asside to another post below about the second hand, mine doesn't land on too many of the markers dead on, but there is no way I could go back to wearing a seiko after owning an SMP no matter where the second hand lands on them both!!
