: The wife got me an Omega Constellation
: automatic for Valentine's Day last year. It
: has been a phenomenal timekeeper. Just this
: week it has started running fast,
: approximately 15 seconds per day. I am
: tracking it with www.time.gov. I had it on
: the winder all last week because I was on
: vacation. It usually is on the winder all
: weekend and this is not the first time it
: has been on for an extended period so I
: don't think this is the cause. Any chance
: this thing will find its groove again? Is
: this something usually covered under the
: warranty?

Before you do anything, check to see if the watch has become magnetized. Hold a compass next to it and see if the needle moves. If it does, the watch has become magnetized. This is a quick and easy repair for a local watchmaker, and they can do it without taking the watch apart.

If it hasn't become magnetized, then it's possible an internal part has come out of alignment. Omega would repair this under warranty unless they could prove that you caused the damage by banging the watch into something (which it doesn't sound like you did).

Good luck,
John
