: 1)What is your source? A watchmaker? A
: magazine?False the 33xx is bidirectionnal
: winding
: please see link, I was also told that by marco
: richon and daniel anselmi that I had the
: opportunity to encounter in Paris.
No need for sources. I own a Broad Arrow, and I know it's uni-directional winding, specifically, clock-wise winding.
I had to decode the link in order to get a peek. Wow, it's a great page even though I don't read a word of French.
By the way, that 3303 movement picture on that page was photoshopped by myself, not Omega as the article credits to. (no problem :-)
: 2) Not the case in the US, but I know some
: people who have their 4130 from year 2000
: serviced in France through Rolex located on
: Rue Ruysdael and through my watchmaker (a
: former rolex watchmaker with +15 years of
: experience)and I also know some friends of
: my uncle who got their 4130 from the year
: 2000 serviced in Rolex Geneva. I got
: feedback from Rolex France as well as from
: my watchmaker and I think it is enough.
Well, that's some expert opinions/impressions but not facts. Claiming who is more reliable than who, one need many years of track record. 5 years is too narrow a time window.
: 3) It is a self winding column wheel chrono
: movement even if it has a diffrent bph and
: power reserve I don't think it is important.
: Rolex modified the ep into the 4030 for
: maximum reliability and more ease to service
: therefore rolex is better. Rolex is better
: by the robustness, ease of service and power
: reserve being the biggest available on a
: selfwinding chronograph .
IMHO, from 36K bph to 28.8K bph, from 55hour power reserve to 72hour, are significat differences between watch movements. Again, Rolex is better or not only time will tell. Claims are just claims.
