Hello John,
Since you have received such excellent customer service, I assume that you have sent your watch directly to Omega Switzerland, right?
Aren't you afraid that it could get lost in the mail? What about the customs? Any problems there?
Thank you,
Common man
: to my last post. I have found that Omega is
: very willing to do just about anything to
: fix a watch that is still under warranty.
: For example, last month I sent them a 2
: month old Seamaster that had NEVER been
: worn. I bought it as a gift for my
: brother-in-law, but he decided on another
: watch.
: Anyway, when I went to sell the watch I noticed
: the watch wouldn't wind without vigorous
: shaking, so I sent it in for warranty
: repair. My invoice came back noting
: "presence of scratches" and
: "crystal is scratched". How one
: can scratch the sapphire of crystal of a
: watch that had never been on the wrist is
: beyond me, but the invoice made it clear
: that the watch would be polished and the
: crystal would be replaced at no cost.
: Had Omega wanted to be difficult, they could
: have claimed that I scratched the watch and
: crystal and that THEY were not responsible.
: Instead, they are doing the repairs at no
: charge even though I never even asked for
: them to be done. After all, this was a
: never-worn watch. I couldn't scratch a
: sapphire crystal on a watch I actually wear,
: let alone one that was never on the wrist.
: So, my personal experience indicates that
: watches that are under warranty do get
: special attention from Omega. Hopefully
: yours will as well and you won't be out of
: pocket for any of the repiars.
