1955 = My Year of Birth
In Response To: Dennis, this is a 30mm ()

wow 1955 was my YOB, and I am sucker for dauphine hands, so I do need to find one of these. 1968 was also a favorite year, so maybe that should be the year of my first Speedmaster.

in terms of the 1955-guy, the black is my favorite. any particular suggestions or hazards in the search for one of these? places to look / places to avoid? what mark / reference indicates the 1955 vintage? how rare are the 1955's, in the black?

forgive me for these elementary questions, but I spend most of my time on the other side of ChronoCentric.

: One of the ones to follow the 30T
: And when it comes to a black dialed Geneve
: first generation, I would have taken it in
: steel, gold or plated. They are very
: uncommon. I think this is only one of two or
: three that I am aware of on the Web. I have
: been looking for it for months
: And was lucky to find this one, all original,
: never polished, and in great condition

: Personally I prefere steel watches. But you can
: find good ones in gold as well. For the
: connies specially, the ones in steel is the
: most uncommon

: But my choices is most of all made from
: condition
: All original, good dial, and preferably never
: polished

: Here is my other Geneve as well, also from 1955

: Cheers Jon
