In Response To: 1955 = My Year of Birth ()

Hi Jeff
I do like the Geneve line from Omega. At least these first generation. They lived a quiet life between the Seamaster and Constellation line, before they was made the Omega entry line in the late 60's. Here is better picture of the white one, and a link to read some more about the Geneves. from FrankN in Denmark

I think the one in black is very uncommon. I have been looking for it for a long time, and finally made someone at TZ selling it to me. I even bought it without seeing pictures first.
I have only been able to find this one, and one more on the web so far. But the first Geneves shows up now and then on ebay, between the later ones that is very common

The Geneve model was introduced in 1953. The only way to indicate the year is to have the movement serial number
From the Omega vintage pages
Movement number and earliest year of production
14.000.000 1954
15.000.000 1956

Both of mine is 14.5xx.xxx, which most likely dates them to 1955

Here is a nice Ad made for the Geneve in 1953

Cheers Jon
