I think the Constellations are very dressy, so they don't cater to as wide a demographic as the Seamaster line.
Teeritz on this forum sells watches and posted a while back that the Constellation line alone is a big seller worldwide. I think he might be able to shed some light on exactly why. However, I'm sure that in the US the Seamaster line is the top seller. You can find just about anything you need within that line. If you want dressy, an Aqua Terra is for you. If you want a diver's watch, take your pick. Need a chronograph? No problem. Not to mention the Bond connection and the introduction of the Planet Ocean.
I don't know what the Omega sales figures were like 20-30 years ago, but I'm sure some other people on here may have an idea.
