Yeah, it can be removed in a matter of seconds by a watchmaker. However, to me this would make the watch kind of a "franken". It would look better TO ME, but it wouldn't be the look of the true Sub Date. I also think the Sea Dweller offers a better value for only a few hundred dollars more - no cyclops, built in helium relief valve, greater water resistance, etc. Granted, I'll never use the last two features, but they don't hurt anything by being there.
