Watch Winder Info..

: John, can you please share with us the brand
: and model of your new winder? Also the
: difference in the watch positioning with the
: old winder vs. the new one. TIA.

Of course. The brand I use now is the Sharper Image single watch winder. I bought a factory refurbished one on ebay through their online store and got it for about half of the $100 retail price. The winder keeps the watch in a vertical position with the ground, and swings it back and forth in a pendulum type motion so that bi-directional winding is possible. It's so quiet you can barely hear it. The only downside is that it runs solely on batteries (no AC adapter).

One other benefit is that the rubber holder expands to fit any bracelet size perfectly. On my old winder you had to remove the outer "rings" from the pillow to get the right fit, and even then it was a real pain. My old winder kept the watch at about a 45 degree angle with the ground. I bought it on ebay as well, but it was a "no name" brand.
