: If Bond wore a Patek, I guess I'd have to look : at it (LOL).
A retired Bond may wear a PP. I don't see PP can fit into Bond's image. They are superb watches, too classy to be sporty.
: re My earlier reference to the Sea-Dweller, I
: was talking to a technical guy about the
: depth spec (4000 meters) of that, and he
: said the reason the date bubble had to be
: removed was because it popped off at greater
: depths. So, maybe that's how they do it:
: Just dive down to a depth where it pops off!
SD is rated at 4000 feet/1220 meters. I'm not sure that's why Rolex didn't use the cyclops on the SD. The cyclops is glued to the crystal, if the pressue is that big, the whole glass would be broken first.
There is this love/hate relationship for the cyclops. It's a unique feature that people don't want to leave without, but they can really attract some dirt around the edges. If Rolex use a little domed crystal, they maybe able to move the cyclops to the inside. Or embed the cyclops into the crystal (instead of gluing on), but that may greatly increase the crystal cost.
Dell, I've read somewhere that Bond did wear a LCD Seiko once, got that in your collection yet?
