Is this Bond watch page watch a Michigan thing?

At my last count, this makes the third major change Omega has made to it's advertising specific to this in less than a month. If I were speculating (which is not my style), I might have to wonder if perhaps the FTC was now involved. "Truth in Advertising" is something they take quite seriously, I hear.

The fact that this last round involves a background change (altho continued blatant representation of the GMT as a Bond watch, despite it never having been), is of particular interest. I use my own name as URL for my personal website (ie, "www.delldeaton.com"). A number of years back, there was a very high visibility intellectual property lawsuit involving an actor who wanted to setup a website in his own name, but someone else had already taken it. The "owner" "offered" to "sell" it back to him - at a pretty high price.

He sued, claiming the value of the name came from him and was his first to claim. And he prevailed.

This was for www.piercebrosnan.com in a suit brought by actor Pierce Brosnan. The same guy whose image Omega SA seems to have felt compelled to finally remove from its website, per your observation, Jason. Coincidence?

"What sharp little eyes you have, Mr. Bond."

"Wait 'til you get to my teeth."
