I Would Wait If I Were You...

: I am about *this* close to getting the 2535.80
: watch; However, I read on Dell's Bond site
: that the big Jewelry/Watch convention that
: is happening end-of-March/early-April will
: probably announce a replacement to the Bond
: Seamaster Pro? Wouldnt the 2535.80 GMT most
: likely be the official replacement?

: I am just really worried that I will purchase
: this watch in the next few days and have a
: new one appear in a few weeks..

: Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Saam,

I've been getting e-mails from a lot of people with the same concerns as you. "What if Omega releases a new watch at the Basel Fair in April and I like the new model better? What if Omega releases a totally new "Bond watch"?" These are very valid thoughts.

I have been advising everyone with these concerns to simply wait another month. Why buy now and potentially regret your purchase just a few weeks from now? You have nothing to lose by waiting. Omega just raised their prices on Feb. 1st, so they will not do so again after the Basel Fair. If you don't like what you see at Basel, go ahead and order the 2535.80. The price will still be the same. If you like a new model better, then wait and buy that one.

Right now there are just WAY too many rumors floating around regarding the identity of the next official "Bond watch", so there is no guarantee at this point that the 2535.80 GMT will be that watch. Of course, if you really like the 2535.80 GMT and will be happy with it even if it is NOT the next Bond watch, then go for it. Otherwise, waiting another month would be your best option.
