Daniels had already tested his version of the co-axle for some years before Omega took it up. The production version has been a set back but with every new generation we see an improvement. What Rolex has going for it, the auto work is a lot more reliable the watch wants to work past 4 years (so many of the Omegas as the oil dries so does the watch) the date mech is a lot more precise on the Rolex. Omega is slightly smaller in size then the Rolex 3135 which allows it into thinner case’s which means a wide use of styles.

If you want the ultimate mechanical time keeper then look at the new Patek using Spriomax hairsprings and Gyromax Balance wheels and the use of the already in use silcon escape wheels. With inherent isochronism and the height of the hairspring reduced to 0.12 mm compared to 0.4 on a standard movement which also means the specific gravity of the balance is reduced. It goes to show new toys like the co-axle is not everything if you don’t look at the material you use for it
