In a way you were lucky that the Heuer Carrera seller just embedded your site into his page - as you were able to change contents and screw the seller. If he'd copied and re-hosted your images that would not have been possible. The only solution to that is to use watermarks across significant areas of the photos, and the type of message that would deter an eBay shopper.
Even if your site uses "non-printable" PDFs or renders all images using Macromedia Flash or Shockwave, if the images are visible on the screen then they can still be copied with screen captures, so I can see watermarks as the only defense.
