Exclusive hi-res photos identify new Bond watch! *LINK* Posted By: Dell Deaton, Negotiator Date: 3/8/06 16:47 GMT
Wanted you all to be among the first to know that new, exclusive hi-res images are now available of Daniel Craig as James Bond 007 - wearing "the" Omega watch for Casino Royale. Or at least one of them...
Follow the link below to see and judge with your own eyes. ok...
And, since I'm among friends here -- I'm eagerly awaiting the folks who'll come forth w/ links to "prove" they predicted it, "knew it all along." No thought, skill, or discipline. Just "guess" enough and odds were bound to make 'em right eventually, like the proverbial stopped watch that tells the correct time twice each day. I'm not exactly sure where this comes from, and admitedly I haven't read every last thread here on the next Bond film, but I really don't believe people around here were particularly worked up about which watch Bond would wear other than would Omega continue or would Bond pick a new (or previous) brand Breitling, Seiko, Pulsar, Rolex among some of the previous watches Bond has worn/used)...
As my Papa Deaton used to say, "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while." Again, I really don't think anyone around here was all that antsy on the topic.
Were I to place odds, I'd have said: PO in black of some stripe: 25-30%, "Black/Black Seamaster 300" 25-30%, "Bond"Seamaster 10-20%, Some new (previously unseen) Omega 5-10%, some other brand... The remainder.
Frankly, I'd rather see Bond wear a chronograph, save for his cover as Sir Hillary Bray in OHMSS, Bond has never worn one (unless you count the geiger counter Breitling in Thunderball!)... With the SeMPC (or even the newer c.33xx models) Bond could have chosen to wear a fully functional dive chronograph with more room for gadgets, and activation schemes than a conventional "Bond" Seamaster.
Me? I prefer precision in my watches. What ever guns your motor. I simply figure the movie will be here before we know it. I'm not all that anticipatatory about this one... While Brosnon wasn't my favorite Bond, he did an outstanding job in the role. He deserved one more go at the part before bowing out before doing one too many. Which Connery, Moore and Dalton all did one too many. [actually, now that I think about it, Moore and Dalton really did two too many, and Connery's one too many was Diamonds are Forever, but that's another topic for another day]...

Well, it has had 678 clicks so far on TimeZone Dell, the key word in my post is in it's title:
Not sure anyone here was that worked up about it…
That's the key word: here...
Well, it has had 678 clicks so far on TimeZone Last time I checked at the top of the forum, TimeZone wasn't at the top of the page, Dell.
And, since I'm among friends here -- I'm eagerly awaiting the folks who'll come forth w/ links to "prove" they predicted it, "knew it all along." No thought, skill, or discipline. Me? I prefer precision in my watches. If you wish to go off on some rant and rave about how people are treating you, that's fine. It seems to me that the best place to have those discussion are at the places where people are treating you in such a fashion to deserve such a brow beating. Again [quoteing myself]: ‘I'm not exactly sure where this comes from, and admitedly I haven't read every last thread here on the next Bond film, but I really don't believe people around here were particularly worked up about which watch Bond would wear ...’
If that discussion occured here that justifies such a browbeating, fine. I understand your desire to post a tit-for-tat message.
If such a discussion did not occur here, please don't browbeat Chronocentric patrons with rhetoric intended for TimeZone, Watch-U-Seek, Turfer's, BroadArrow.net, or anyone of a number of Bond sites.
I simply don't understand the motive or need to brow beat people in this forum who have not to my knowledge prevoked such a post. I'm not going to let such a message go unreponded to.
Because it simply does not seem to be the best way to remain ‘among friends here’ to me...
