Actually Dell. You seem to be ...
Yes, I read the title of your post Posted By: Dell Deaton, Negotiator Date: 3/9/06 12:26 GMT
In Response To: Dell, the key word in my post is in it's title: (Chicagoland Chuck Maddox)
You, personally, seem to be very upset at me here. Tone and style of your eMail here, as well as your last. Actually Dell. You seem to be very upset with the folks here in this forum from the tone and style of your post here in this forum.
I simply had not seen justification for the browbeating you posted in your message in this forum.
If I may ask, directly -- what I have I done to offend you? Dell, I did not post your message. You did.
I stated that I did not feel that your message, particularly with it's tone and condescending nature was warranted, at least not here at Chronocentric/Zowie.
You say in one eMail that you haven't even bothered to read all the posts on the topic, Dell, I haven't posted a single eMail on this topic. Posts are posts, eMail is eMail, let's not confuse the two, shall we?
Should I or anyone have to read all the posts on a topic? Is that what this is all about, Dell?
yet you challenge me at length. Dell, I found the tone of your message in general to be denegrating in it's nature. I stated such.
Has someone has provoked such an outburst, Dell? If so, why not direct it at them specifically and not everyone?
You compound this by remarking on what you say has or has not been said on Chronocentric. I said I hadn't seen anything to warrant a post of that tone directed to the general readership of Chronocentric. I did not state that something had or had not said, only I hadn't seen it.
I may feel it more polite not to cite every eMail challenge I've faced here, on Chronocentric, but I'm confident that it wouldn't be hard for anyone who's interested to find examples more than adequate to support my impressions. If you say so Dell. I don't have (nor do I wish to have) access to your eMail. If a post that warrants a post of a tone that equates to browbeating to the general audience of Chronocentric/Zowie is so easy to find, I'd have thought we would have expected to have tripped over it already.
Just as there are sore losers, gracious losers and magnanimous winners, there are sore winners too.
As I stated in my last post: “If that discussion occurred here that justifies such a browbeating, fine. I understand your desire to post a tit-for-tat message.”.
However, the purpose of Chronocentric, Zowie (and OTD and the watch sections of my site) are to discuss watches, not to serve as a platform for vendetta or payback.
Since we've also talked by phone and you have my cell number, you are welcome to call me if this is something best not played out to an audience. You know how to get a hold of me Dell, I'm not difficult to find.
Or do you have another agenda here? Among my agenda's is the health and growth of Chronocentric/Zowie and also OnTheDash.
I fail to understand how postings of such a denegrating tone are condusive to that. Dell. I do not believe the people here who didn't say anything in regards to this matter on Chronocentric Omega Forum deserve being talked to in the tone you used in your message: “I'm eagerly awaiting the folks who'll come forth w/ links to "prove" they predicted it, knew it all along. No thought, skill, or discipline. Just "guess" enough and odds were bound to make 'em right eventually, like the proverbial stopped watch that tells the correct time twice each day. As my Papa Deaton used to say, "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while."
Again, I'm not sure, but it does seem that you feel that they did.
From the tone of your original message it seems that someone had a difference of opinion with you, somewhere, maybe even here on Chronocentric. People are entitled to hold their own opinion(s): right, left, center, correct, wrong or just different from mine or yours even if we don't like those opinions, Dell. I accept that, do you? Because I have to tell you, in life we each are all are going to run into tonnes of people who won't share lockstep agreement with our individual opinions.
That doesn't mean that they aren't entitled to hold their own opinions, or that their not agreeing with your opinion is some agenda against you.
