Clarification about ADs

I am set to purchase my first Omega in May as a graduation present to myself (graduate degree). I have decided on the Aqua Terra chronometer (mid size) with blue dial because I prefer simple design and one that won't go out of fashion.

Question: Are the ADs so often mentioned on this board the same as the retailers that are shown through the official Omega Web site? I am in Louisville, KY, and there are only two retailers shown on Omega's site - one family-owned jewerly store and one, I believe, is a chain store. I went to the family owned store and they talked about a 20% discount off of MSRP if I paid in cash and purchased a watch that they had in stock. I plan to pay in cash, but I don't want to be potentially limited to what they have in stock.

I will definitely go through an AD, but I want to make sure I am being smart about it. Thanks for any advice, and this board has been a huge help for me to understand fine watches!
