: I am set to purchase my first Omega in May as a
: graduation present to myself (graduate
: degree). I have decided on the Aqua Terra
: chronometer (mid size) with blue dial
: because I prefer simple design and one that
: won't go out of fashion.
: Question: Are the ADs so often mentioned on
: this board the same as the retailers that
: are shown through the official Omega Web
: site? I am in Louisville, KY, and there are
: only two retailers shown on Omega's site -
: one family-owned jewerly store and one, I
: believe, is a chain store. I went to the
: family owned store and they talked about a
: 20% discount off of MSRP if I paid in cash
: and purchased a watch that they had in
: stock. I plan to pay in cash, but I don't
: want to be potentially limited to what they
: have in stock.
: I will definitely go through an AD, but I want
: to make sure I am being smart about it.
: Thanks for any advice, and this board has
: been a huge help for me to understand fine
: watches!
Check your e-mail for my referral. You can do MUCH better than what you are being offered locally.
The dealers listed on Omega's website are all authorized retailers. Your local ones are listed there, as is the dealer I use. As long as you buy from an authorized retailer, you receive the Omega factory warranty (along with the peace of mind in knowing you are getting a genuine Omega watch with its serial number in tact).
