In my recent search for an Omega, I came to the following conclusion based on advice from others on this forum and on my own research.
If you can afford to buy from an AD, do so and use the ADs recommended by others on this forum. You get a new watch with warranty and peace of mind knowing it's an authentic Omega.
If you cannot afford to buy new from an AD, buy a used watch listed on a forum such as the time zone sales corner. These watches are often only lightly used (even worn only one or two times) and are usually priced at 1/2 of the discounted AD price. In addition, they typically come with box and papers and have time left on the factory warranty.
Of course, buying new from an AD is best. If I could not afford that or wanted to save a little money, I would choose to buy a used watch as I described above rather than go to a gray market dealer. That way, I get a lightly worn but genuine watch with factory warranty rather than a possibly suspect watch with no or limited warranty.
