provide factory service on their products regardless of where they were purchased and what some unscrupulous dealer or seller would have done to them. There are probabily plenty of people who get these watches as gifts from whomever and it really isn't their fault that they were bought outside of authorised channels....
I know of a few other luxury companies which do the same (none watches) and always admire the practice...it isn't like they are getting the shaft either as the people have to pay full price, but companies which totally turn their backs on their products simply because their dealers want to move their product to me seems harsh...understandable but harsh none the less.
