Re: omegamatic
In Response To: omegamatic ()

I too thought about buying an Omegamatic. It was my first purchase of a fine watch and I decided to go with a SMP automatic. I believe the Omegamatic works on the same principal as some kinetic watches. There is a quartz inside but your movement causes a capacitor to charge which powers the crystal. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I believe the bracelet is the same but you should confirm. Since the watch is quartz driven I want to say the second hand moves in 1 second increments but I could be wrong. Some of the experts on this forum can verify these issues. The one thing I like about the Omegamatic is the cyclops over the date. I think the size of the watch is about equal to the midsize watches. Happy researching.
