Re: Manual Wind Watches
In Response To: Manual Wind Watches ()

I own three hand winding watches. In the beginning, I was also a bit skeptical of hand winding watches. I thought that they will have to many disadvantages over automatics.
In my opinion, my hand winding watches are as reliable as automatics. Check out the high-end manufacturers like Patek Philippe or A. Lange & Soehne. Quite a few of their watches are hand winding.
There's even one advantage of hand winding watches over automatics that I particularly like. If you wind them once every morning, they will continue to run for at least 24 hours without having to be moved/shaken.
Another advantage is that they usually are alot thinner and lighter than automatics.
