Re: a thaught

Rolex is a very conservative firm but at least they have the merit to have fully proven and fully reliable movements. Take the 33xx, it only has problems since its birth, the 4130 has problems that were resolved from a definitive manner and the 4130 is condier as the reference in terms of self winding column wheel chronographs movement. The 3135 has been a reference since 1988, you don't change a reference that win and that is very superiro to other references on the market. The 3135 has enough back up to be condiered as the best automatic movements available on the market. The 3135 is not an eta base that cost 175$ and it is entirely inhouse, it is a specific rolex design which has made its proof since a long time. Rolex prefer rathers to improve its calibers rather than make a faulty movement, they are people are very strict when it comes to quality. Rolex keeps value because it has limited models taht are appreciated by collectors and that are not eta powered watches. Law of supply and demand in watches. When it comes to over the long durability, the rolex outlasts any eta movement.
