: "Other than that they did a great
: job."
: So you are basically saying that besides
: messing up your watch, they did a great job?
: You comment must be ironic! ;-)
: Unfortunately, I've had more than my share of
: experiences like yours. That's why I wait
: until the very last moment before sending my
: watches to repair. On one of my watches,
: (not an Omega) the crown gets stuck most of
: the time, so that I can't pull it out. It
: has been this way since I bought it in
: December of last year, but I will only have
: it repaired shortly before my guarantee will
: end in order to save myself major
: disappointments. I'm sad to say this, but so
: far, I never had one single thoroughly
: pleasing watch servicing experience.
: Fortunately, my Seamaster AT is still quite
: new, and when the time will arrive to have
: it serviced, I will most likely send it
: directly to Switzerland.
Yep, I learned the hard way that Bienne is the only place to send your watch to for repair. I suppose this could have been worse - I could have had to pay out of pocket for this mess!!! Thankfully they have to fix everything under warranty.
I tried to find some humor in all this when this morning I read that the service I received was to include a "final visual and technical inspection". I guess that doesn't include making sure the bracelet is put on in the right direction?????
