Well, seems you really have been taken by the Rolex machine. You are right, Rolex has the "Reputation" of being the best watch in the world. And kudos to you my friend for paying for marketing and reputation. Never mind those cheap watch brands like Audemars Piguet, A Lange & Sohne, IWC, Breguet, Patek Phillipe, etc. They are just those "other" brands.
Truly well spoken by a Rolex owner. Aaah, you guys just cant afford Rolex, so you bought Omega instead. Not true for me, and its safe to say the majority of others who post here. When I bought my first Omega, I researched for months and eventually, like some people, went with Omega for "bang for the buck". Suprised?? I mean, I had the bones to buy a Rolex. I also can afford to drive a Porsche 911, but drive a HD Chevy 2500 Truck instead. By your reason, If you can afford the Porsche and its a status symbol, you should march down to the Local Porsche dealership and buy one today.
No, not this guy. Its safe to say Ill never buy a Rolex, not because I can't afford it, but because I choose not to, and people with your attitude reaffirm my position every day.
PS. Maybe the reason Rolex never changes their designs is because it takes a whole year to make just 1 watch. I mean, I guess those Subs that they started making back in the 60s are just now getting through Quality control. They must really be backlogged if they are churning out 650,000+ watches a year.
