Hi Ralph.
i'm also a proud owner of a black SMP :-)

I'm using my Speedmaster as my daily watch.
And i really didn't want to deal with polishing the hesalite crystal.. i hate scratches on the crystal.. + i wanted to enjoy the beauty of the movement with a sapphire caseback straight from Omega.
So i bought the Speedmaster sapphire.

(Hesalite versus Sapphire is also a bit exaggerated.
I never had a watch with a broken sapphire crystal, not even while hitting it against a rock.)

It's the same watch like the flight qualified by nasa speedmaster.
On the exception that it has a scratch resistant sapphire crystal + a sapphire caseback
+ a more decorated Lemania movement.
But otherwise the same movement.

I haven't adjusted this watch since i bought it 5 months ago..
It keeps better time than any of my Chronometer certified watches.

It's a superb watch and winding it is fun! :)
