: Forgive me if this question has been asked
: before (or, as the case may be, many times
: before), but I'm a little unsure about one
: aspect of watch size.
: If a watch is sized at 36.25 millimeters, that
: is, I assume, the face diameter. Correct ?
36.25mm would be the largest distance across the watch, being it the bezel or the case. It may or may not include the crown.
: If so, is that the diameter from outer bezel
: edge to outer bezel edge, or is it the
: diameter of the actual watch face itself ?
: In other words, if I compared a SMP Mid-Size
: (36.25 mm) to a Rolex Explorer I (36 mm),
: would the Rolex face actually be a true 36
: mm because it has no bezel and the SMP
: something less than 36.25 mm because it has
: a bezel ?
No, whatever measurement that 's given is greatest distance across the watch. Usually the case, but if the bezel happened to be larger in diameter, that's what would be measured.
: Thanks very much for your assistance.
You're welcome.
