I had the same idea when I was going to South Africa. Everything over there was cheaper - APART from Omega watches. In fact they were dearer. The SA dealer was angry because he could not match UK price ("those b******* at Omega fix our prices so high").
Before I went I visited our local Omega agent and told him I was expecting to get a cheaper one in SA. His response was to offer me a 20% discount. I bought the watch from him as soon as I arrived home!
