Re: Watch winders
In Response To: Watch winders ()

There are a few different views on winders.
I have 2 autos so I got a winder.
The accuracy could be affected a little when a watch nears the end of it's power reserve. The effect is so little, that it doesn't concern me.
As far as wear and tear, a few approaches there.
If you don't wear a watch enough to keep it wound, you're probably better off letting it run down. Why wear n' tear it when it's not in use.
The other side is, if left unused for a long period of time, the lubricants in the mvement could gel or go bad. I think it'd have to sit for a very long time for that to happen though.
Personally, I keep both of mine wound, whether by wearing or by the winder, all the time.
Also, it depends if it's a chronograph with multipal functions, as these can be a pain to set, over and over again.
Basically, it's a personal choice, I don't see any right or wrong.

Regards,
Ken
