aha !! he's fallen into the "trap"

I had quite a chat with Chuck about this yesterday.

We don't believe it can be a MK II dial.

Easiest & most obvious reason, it doesn't say MK II on it.

Next reason, the dial is stepped around the end of the hour markers. I currently have 5 ( yes 5 ! ) MK II dials in front of me. Only one of them are stepped around the hour markers & that is the golden version.

So, this is not a MK II dial.

I believe it is an original speedmaster professional dial that has been redialed. re-dial ? how do I come to that conclusion ? Look at the 03:00 subdial markers between 10 & 15, they extend outside the subdial. There are other examples of tiny tiny mistakes on the dial.

I am amazed at how good the re-dialers can do a dial today.

here's the original picture again.
