In Response To: Question about movements ()

: Hi everyone,
Hi

The 33xx is a nice movement but is far to be as rugged as the 1164. The problems are supposed to be solved in a definitive manner but I don't think they are. The 33xx is more a movement fitted a dress watch rather than a movement made for taking rough or severe abuse. The best column wheel movement selfwinding chrono actually is the rolex 4130 which is the most reliable selfwinding column wheel chrono movement with 72 hours of power reserve.
The 33xx is also not made by Omega but by Piguet for Omega, generally subcontractors are far to offer the same level of quality than when a firm modifies a movement by itself however the 33xx is aethetically nice.Chuck and me have debatted long enough here about the 33xx and 36xx.
Good luck whatever you decide.

regards

georges
