A little bit more info

Hi Lorenzo (& guys )

a bit more Info.

Should you decide to send your watch to Omega Bienne, you can't do much better than to read Bill C's EXCELENT description of what he did & what Omega did.

Here's a link to Bill C's webpage

The web page is quite old now & Bill lives in the States, but almost all of it applies. You will need a different customs form ( I didn't bother doing the form stuff at all !) & I would use "International Signed for", via the post office, to send the watch from the UK.

Contrary to what I just posted in the previous post, when the watch comes back to you , you WILL be liable for some VAT ( since Switzerland is not in the EU :-( ) . It will however be sent with an invoice, so you will only pay on the value of the work done & not the value of the watch.

Here's a link to a post about a watch that I recently had restored by Omega

I know your watch doesn't need cosmetic work, but this is what they can do.

I hope this helps.

Steve
