Re: Did you ask about the black SMP?

: Did you ask your AD about the rumoured update
: to the 2254.50? I've heard that it's going
: to have the co-ax movement, but won't have
: applied markers. I think that a version with
: the co-ax movement AND applied markers would
: be a hot seller.

Actually I did, since I like the 2254.50 as well. According to the rep, Omega isn't planning on upgrading the 2254.50 this year, since they plan to start with the Bond SMP and then gradually start introducing the upgraded co-axial models. However, he didn't rule out an upgrade next year. In fact, he seemed to believe that there would be a new one next year debuting at Basel.

Obviously, there were no specifics on this model's upgrades, but my instinct is that it will have the applied markers. Omega will want to make this co-axial model look more "upscale" to justify the increased price, and applied markers definitely add a touch of sophistication. After all, the Planet Ocean has them, the Bond GMT has them, and now the new Bond SMP will have them. It would seem foolish NOT to put them on an upgraded 2254.50.

I told my AD to send me an e-mail the minute he has any new information on the co-axial Bond SMP availability or any word/rumors on an upgraded 2254.50. So, when I hear anything I'll post it here right away.
