: Linking a specific dealer to a price isn't
: really fair to the dealer so I wouldn't do
: it.

I appreciate that.

: But I am surprised that no one shares pricing
: in a forum that introduces itself by stating
: "Feel free to discuss pricing and
: specific dealers."

You do raise a good point here. The next sentence in the introduction talks about how commercial solicitation is not allowed, which is what I'd be doing if I posted messages saying "Buy from my dealer and get XX% off the MSRP. Here is his name and phone number...". In discussing pricing and specific dealers, I know that the late founder of this website was referring to discussions about good or bad service from specific AD's (who to avoid, who takes care of their customers, etc.). As for pricing discussions, this would refer to someone posting a question asking, for example, "Is $3000 too much to pay for a Planet Ocean." In reading that opening sentence I can see how someone could think that this was a place to talk about specific dealers AND the prices they charge. Having been around when this website's founder was still with us, I know that this was not what he intended. In fact, such posts were deleted if such a discussion came up. Still, I agree with you that the wording is deceptive.

: Could most posters on this forum be buying from
: a small number of ADs? Tight knit club?

Most of the regulars on this forum have indeed bought watches from the specific AD's we provide referrals to. As I said in my earlier post, since Omega frowns on their authorized dealers offering deep discounts, we provide all referrals through private e-mail. No one wants to see these discounts go away, so we simply don't post details publicly.
