What nice ladies in Customer Services say and what the Terms and Conditions say are not necessarily the same! I was refused payment when a watch was lost and the exemption was quoted to me, though luckily I had not been asked to sign anything when the watch was collected, so they couldn't hold the Terms and Conditions against me and they paid up in full!
However that was a watch that was going to America and I accept that Special Delivery may be different. But I am far from certain as the Terms and Conditions seem to cover all such services without any exception for Special Delivery. When I have found out exactly what the position is, I'll put up a message on this Forum.
Sorry to still be a doubter - that's the problem of being a lawyer!
