In Response To: Pre-purchase dilemma ()

It all comes down to our own tastes of course, but since you enjoy the look of the Explorer, take a look at the link for an AT that also comtains a few numbers on the dial that more closely resembles the Explorer.... (I didn't know if you were aware of this model of not!)

Now getting onto the debate....
Since you are already aware of these facts:

Explorer is higher priced than Seamaster
- Explorer doesn't have date indication
- Rolex have own movements (no ETAs) but are still mass-produced
- Coax-construcion lacks long-term experience

I'll introduce some new ones that you can ponder about:

-The AT has a display back that allows you to see the mechanism running... A very nice touch...

-If it matters to you... Rolex is the most copied watch company. There are a lot of other watches that also look exactly like the Explorer (Sandoz and Zeno make some for example). This is something that no Company can prevent though....

-The clasp of the AT is better....

Well, looking back up tells me that I'm probably bias, but..... This is an Omega forum right?

I believe that the only sure way you'll end this self debate is to try on both and compare them side by side when they're physically right in front of you. I'm sure that one or the other will just 'jump' out more to you....

And finally.... Good Luck!
