I paid. ( it was cheap & good )
Hi Rudy,
I paid for thr return postage on my watch. ( a flightmaster )
The return postage cost me 30 CHF ( so about 19 Euros or 25 USD )
It was sent Priority post & had to be signed for. I live in Germany. The package had been opened by customs, they stuck an inoice on the outside of the box & the customs fees were collected directly by the delivering postman. ( so you can't hide this too well from your wife :-) )
The watch arrived a couple of days after it was sent. ( But Switzerland to Germany doesn't involve a ship or long flight ).
I was more than happy with the service ( ALL aspects of it )
I don't mind / care if Omega list the carraige charge as a seperate item on the bill or "hide" it in the price of the service.
Another point to remember... you watch comes back to you in a cool padded case ( like this ... )
I'm not at all sure about insurance. BUT since customs are involved I'm pretty certain no-one would be stupid enough to steal it... I don't think the customs office knows any limits whene it comes to chasing money.
As for damage protection, with the case shown above & the box they send it in, you shouldn't have any worries.
Finally, I have never read of a bad experience to do with postage & Omega Bienne. & Believe me, NOTHING spreads faster than bad publicity.
I will send another watch to them. I won't be worrying about the postage.
I hope this helps.
Steve
