Interesting, John! I bought my first Omega in 1954 and with it came a nice green leatherette covered wooden box with suede interior and cushion, a receipt from the dealer, a small manual AND the COSC certificate!
The fact that in the ensuing 52 years I have lost everything except the watch and the receipt is neither here nor there!
I wonder why Omega changed? Perhaps most people didn't want the certificates.
