Interesting post John, put what Omega has written about the coax just strenghten one of my feelings: that marketing can't be trusted because it can be misleading. I was always against marketing hype. The estimations Omega made about the Coax were wrong because all the tests concerning the Coax were laboratory tests. On the other hand Rolex mentions to service their watches every 5 years but yet some peopel have their 3135 still running superb. Lieing to customers decreases your reputation and make them go for looking a watch of another brand.
Perhaps what Omega thought according to laboratory tests on the Coax was completely impossible to realize in normal wear conditions?
John, now you understand why I don't like the way Omega is managed as well as many of its innovating products like the 33xx, 36xx who are sources of problems and who were declared as perfect according to the marketing hype.
just my very honest thoughts
regards
georges
