Hi K.C.
I posted here back in February about my experience with wearing a Speedy Date whilst swimming in the ocean. Like you, I assumed that a rating of 30 meters would be fine for regular swimming. I wore my watch with while swimming in Gold Coast, Aus. It didn't turn out so well. To make a long story short, I had it repaired at the Japanese Service Center (free as it was still under warranty).
I love the Speedy Date (I find the Day Date dial a little busy) but I certainly wouldn't recommend you swim with it.
Cheers!
