You should keep in mind that this is an Omega watch forum where we are free to discuss all things Omega, including the accuracy of our watches, mechanical or quartz. If you don't care to read about these things then you don't have to come here.
I agree that the SMP quartz is a very accurate and reliable watch, and I own some Tissot Swiss quartz watches that gain one second every month and a half or so. However, I have also owned cheap Casio watches that gained about a second a day, which is no better than some of my automatics. So, clearly not all quartz watches are created equal. Just something to keep in mind before criticizing us "mechanical types fanatically harping on about accuracy."
