Fair enough. I fully agree that quartz watches vary DRAMATICALLY in quality. The people who say they can buy a $20 Timex at Wal-Mart that keeps better time than my $2000+ Omega automatic are not always correct. As I said, my experience with cheap quartz watches is that they keep time no better than a well-regulated automatic.
That being said, my Tissot PRC 200 (Tissot is also part of the Swatch Group) keeps superb time, gaining a second every month and a half or so. These are very high quality Swiss quartz watches for the money ($395 MSRP, which includes a sapphire crystal, chronograph function, and applied dial markers, all on a nice bracelet with a dual push button clasp).
