I think the CF 4455 is a form to state that you own the watch.

If something arrives in the States from abroad, somebody should charge the recipient, some kind of Import Duty / Tax.

BUT who wants to pay import duty for something that they already own ?.

Basically the CF 4455 is a form to state that you own the watch, so that when it comes back, you can prove it is yours & then you ( the recipient ) are only liable for the tax on the repairs to the watch, which are hopefully a LOT less that the value of the watch.

Maybe I've got it completely wrong, but that's how it worked in Germany.

John, in Germany, we also have the little green sticker that you shown. I just put "pre-owned watch" & a value on it. AFAIK this is used to determine the value & Tax due of the packet.

Philip, if you're still here. What do you mean by a "cpb" form ? Have I got the meaning completely wrong ? ( apologies in advance if I have )
