: That's one thing I have always liked about my
: TAG Heuer quartz - very accurate as well as
: tough! I guess it is some sort of ETA
: movement.
: Also, I actually bought a Vostok ($30) auto
: diver 300m watch and put a rubber strap on
: it to be a true beater, but I just never
: seem to wear it! It isn't very accurate, but
: the price was right!
: I will look at the Tissot's, too. I heard good
: things about them over recent years but have
: never put my hands on one.
I made that mistake with the Casio quartz watch I just got rid of. I bought it for about $30 thinking it would be my "beater" watch, but it kept such bad time that I kept thinking to myself "my Bond SMP auto keeps better time than this QUARTZ watch." I knew that Tissot had some nice quartz models I had been looking at for a while, so I settled on the Seastar. From now on I won't chance buying anything without a Swiss movement in it. I've had such bad luck with Casio and Seiko that I don't trust anything that doesn't have "SWISS MADE" on the dial.
