There is a receipt for "overhaul and service" from The Old Watch Shop (www.theoldwatchshop.com). I don't really know much about them of course but they do seem to have some experience of vintage Omegas. The new crystal is signed, so they must have a good supplier for parts etc.

A full service from STS costs £170. Chris Heal (www.chealwatch.co.uk) quotes £60 and seems to have good reputation. Do you have any other suggestions for a service? I keep promising I will send Chris something but never quite get round to it.

STS have already quoted £130 for restoring dial (and "part repair charge" whatever that means!) but they have not actually seen the watch itself. Last time they did a fantastic restoration job on my late father's watch, so I think I will get them to do this one too. Chris Heal has a restoration page (www.chealwatch.co.uk/dialrestoring.htm) but they seem to be all re-coated rather than cleaned. As I say though, I am not sure of the real difference.
