: My AD carries FOUR other Swatch Group brands -
: Tissot, Rado, Longines, and Hamilton, but he
: just isn't good enough for Omega anymore.
The other often-recommended AD also carries those brands.
: Anyway, I do want to personally thank everyone
: for your posts and for all of the e-mails
: I've received today. Your support for my AD
: has truly been overwhelming.
Do you think there is anything customers can do? I've not shopped from your dealer -- I used the other dealer -- but many here have shopped from one, the other, or both. We're not talking a handful of watches (when I spoke to the other AD about a 2531.80, he said "Oh, sure, I get those in lots of ten..." meaning he sells the stuff.
If (and that's a big "if" given the developments) "your" dealer and -- should the time come -- the "other" dealer could benefit from repeat customers writing short, polite, well worded letters to someone somewhere in the Swatch organization, that might be worth doing.
Perhaps stating something along the lines of "I've bought numerous pieces and have been an Omega customer for XX years; this AD is of the highest quality and represents the brand in an exemplary manner; it's disappointing and a disservice to me, your loyal customer, to remove this dealer when (s)he has done so much for me AND you with the way he handles business and treats Omega customers etc."
The way I see it is, this was "our" dealer network from "our" favourite company, so we may as well let them know... I don't know, maybe I'm not realistic... But these jewelers were a far cry from the "poor showing" that Omega is making them out to be; they were actually great people to deal with and promoted the brand exceedingly well!
