Not quite the same, Erik. The movements may be the same, but the style is different.
Seamasters started in about 1949, I think, and were supposed to be rather more robust than other Omegas, being "waterproof"; though, they could let the water in if it was more than a shower! Over the years, they did become properly waterproof. Anyway, they were sportsmen's watches, rather than evening dress watches.
Some time in the late 1960's (and I am vague about the exact date) Omega brought in the Seamaster de Villes. They were slightly less "sporty" and a bit more "evening dress", but not so "evening dress" as the Constellations which started in 1954.
They're nice watches; I have a few Seamasters and am often tempted to buy a de Ville!
