1960s Omega Seamaster

My grandfather purchased (what we thought was) a gold Omega Seamaster in the 1960s. It has been handed down to my father and now my husband. My husband had planned to pass it on to my son.

Unfortunately, while at the jewelers to have a minor repair, the watch was stolen from the jeweler.

The jeweler has said they will try to find a comparable Seamaster, but they have not been able to do so in five months. The jeweler also says it is gold-filled, not gold.

We are trying to determine the value of the watch, though its sentimental value was the most important to us.

If there is information available about any style differences between a solid gold and gold-filled Seanaster of that era, I would appreciate it.

We are still hopeful that the jeweler will find a comparable Seamaster to replace it.
